Kelly Jarrett | Chief Financial Officer

Kelly Jarrett – Chief Financial Officer

Kelly is a qualified lawyer and finance professional with over 18 years’ experience across Corporate Law, Corporate Finance, and various CFO and financial advisory roles. She has worked for KPMG and global Investment banks, both in Melbourne and London, and has advised on numerous mergers and acquisitions, divestment, capital raisings, and IPOs.

Kelly has extensive experience working with fast growing companies, assisting them to corporatise, systematise and establish robust financial and operational frameworks to support rapid and sustainable growth. She is responsible for the financial management and corporate governance of the Payton Group. She also administers the funds management operations.

Kelly holds a Bachelor of Law, Bachelor of Commerce (Finance Major), and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment.

Mark Haven | Chief Operating Officer

Mark Heaven – Chief Operating Officer

Mark is a Chartered Accountant and financial services executive with over 25 years’ experience across finance, strategy, operations, governance, and accounting.  Over the last 18 years, Mark has held executive roles working in retail and wholesale funds management businesses including Aviva, Colonial, Herschel Asset Management, Perennial Investment Partners and EMR Capital.

In his most recent role, Mark was Chief Operating Officer at MaxCap, one of Australia’s largest investment managers, specialising in the delivery of debt and equity solutions to commercial real estate developers.  Whilst Mark was COO, he oversaw the growth of MaxCap from $150m FUM to $7bn FUM.

Mark is responsible for the corporate and investment operations platform, IT (including cyber-security), people and culture, and ESG.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) and a Diploma in Financial Services and is a member the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in both Australia, England, and Wales.

Craig Schloeffel | Head of Investment

Craig Schloeffel – Head of Investment

Craig has more than 15 years’ experience working across banking, financial markets, private wealth, lending, and residential construction. After establishing a career in financial planning, Craig gained valuable wealth management experience before transitioning into leadership roles for the Commonwealth Bank across their Retail Bank, Private Wealth and Private Bank divisions.

Prior to Payton, Craig was the National Sales Manager for major volume builder, Porter Davis, giving him vital experience in residential construction and land development.

Craig is responsible for the management and leadership of the investor distribution, administration, business development and sales management teams for Payton.

Craig holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance), Diploma of Financial Services and a Master of Applied Finance.

Jeremy Townend | Head of Lending

Jeremy Townend – Head of Lending

Jeremy has a diverse background in banking which spans over 20 years. During this time, Jeremy has held numerous senior management roles in Corporate, Commercial and Retail banking for BNZ, NAB and Bankwest, with his previous role leading the Commercial Banking Victoria team at CBA.

Jeremy has further financial services experience, having worked in the accounting industry in both New Zealand and London.

Jeremy is responsible for the lending strategy and operations within the Payton Capital business, overseeing the credit risk management, product development, customer acquisition and portfolio growth of the lending business.

Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Business, Accounting and a certificate of negotiation mastery from Harvard Business School.

Robert McLellan | Chief Risk Officer

Robert McLellan – Chief Risk Officer

Rob brings extensive experience from the banking and financial services industry to Payton Capital. He has worked for leading domestic and international financial institutions and has led teams covering relationship management, risk and structured finance. Rob has expertise in structuring complex financing solutions, portfolio management and risk appetite setting as well as managing and remediating distressed assets.

In his most recent role, Rob was Chief Risk Officer at Qualitas Limited, an ASX-listed alternative investment manager specialising in real estate private credit and real estate private equity. At Qualitas, Rob was responsible for overseeing transaction and enterprise risk, and managing the Investment Risk, Legal and Compliance teams. He was Chair and a voting member of Qualitas’ various fund Investment Committees and a member of the Executive Team.

In prior banking roles, Rob has held senior origination, execution and risk management positions including Head of Credit – Institutional & Corporate at ANZ Banking Group, where he exercised material credit approval authority and led national teams of credit executives covering diversified portfolios across Australia and PNG.

Rob holds a Bachelor of Business (Banking and Finance) from Monash University and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Edinburgh Business School. He is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

Pasquale Franzese | Responsible Manager

Pasquale Franzese – Responsible Manager & independent member of the Investment Committee

Pasquale has over 35 years’ experience in banking, tax effective financing, property finance, investments and management. He was previously a senior manager at National Australia Bank (NAB) where he was involved in a variety of large-scale property acquisition and financing projects.

Prior to joining NAB, he worked as a merchant banker for the Australian subsidiaries of Toronto Dominion Bank and Kuwait Asia Bank E.C. Since 2004, he has held a number of appointments for Australian Financial Services and Credit Licensees.

Dr Franzese is a recognised Supreme Court banking expert witness and holds graduate and postgraduate qualifications in accounting, finance and banking.
