David Di Pilla – Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer

David led the team that founded and established the consortium to acquire HomeCo (now HMC Capital) in 2016. David is the Founder, a director and the major shareholder of the Aurrum Aged Care group. From 2014 to 2016, David was also a strategic advisor and Director to operating subsidiaries of the Tenix Group of Companies.

David has over 20 years of experience in investment banking. From 2004 to 2015, David was Managing Director and Senior Adviser at UBS, Australia and during this time he advised some of Australia’s largest corporations on mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity capital market transactions.

Matthew Lancaster | Chair of the HMC Private Credit Platform and the Payton Investment Committee

Matthew Lancaster – Chair of the Private Credit Platform

Matthew Lancaster has over 25 years’ experience in finance and investment based in the United States and Australia.

Matthew was previously a Senior Managing Director at Macquarie Group. During his time at Macquarie, Matthew served as the US Head of Principal Finance and was a member of Macquarie’s Management Committee in the United States.

At Macquarie, Matthew was responsible for over $14bn of principal balance sheet investments which realised an unlevered net return of LIBOR + 9.5% p.a.

Will McMicking | Group Chief Financial Officer

Will McMicking – Group Chief Financial Officer

Will was a part of the team that established HomeCo (now HMC Capital) and is responsible for overseeing the finance function across the business. Will is also a shareholder of the Aurrum Aged Care Group.

Will is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and has over 10 years investment banking and corporate finance experience having previously held roles at UBS Australia and EY.

Craig Schloeffel | Head of Investment

Craig Schloeffel – Head of Payton Capital

Craig has more than 15 years’ experience working across banking, financial markets, private wealth, lending, and residential construction. After establishing a career in financial planning, Craig gained valuable wealth management experience before transitioning into leadership roles for the Commonwealth Bank across their Retail Bank, Private Wealth and Private Bank divisions. National Sales Manager for major volume builder, Porter Davis, giving him vital experience in residential construction and land development.

Craig holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance), Diploma of Financial Services and a Master of Applied Finance.

Mark Heaven | Payton Chief Operating Officer

Mark Heaven – Chief Operating Officer

Mark is a Chartered Accountant and financial services executive with over 25 years’ experience across finance, strategy, operations, governance, and accounting.

Over the last 18 years, Mark has held executive roles working in retail and wholesale funds management businesses including Aviva, Colonial, Herschel Asset Management, Perennial Investment Partners, EMR Capital, and MaxCap.

Michael Golinelli | Head of Credit

Michael Golinelli – Head of Credit

With over 11 years of banking experience, Michael has worked for leading financial institutions both in Australia and internationally. He previously led ANZ’s Lending Services Property team, overseeing real estate restructuring and workout strategies across Australia. Before joining ANZ, Michael was part of Deloitte’s Restructuring Services team, where he gained extensive expertise in financial advisory and risk management.

As Head of Credit, Michael is responsible for credit risk management, loan structuring, portfolio performance, and credit strategy. He leads the Credit team in conducting loan assessments, optimising risk frameworks, and ensuring alignment of credit strategies with business objectives.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), a Bachelor of Banking & Finance, and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Queensland University of Technology. He is also admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland.

Michael Golinelli | Head of Credit

Grant Murphy – Head of Lending

With over 20 years of experience in banking and the property market, Grant Murphy has held executive financial services roles across Queensland, including as NAB’s Commercial Real Estate Banking Executive. In this role, he led the business through a period of substantial growth, reinforcing his expertise in commercial real estate finance. Grant has developed an in-depth understanding of property markets across Australia, allowing him to provide strategic lending solutions. As a leader at Payton Capital, he oversees both the Queensland and Western Australian Borrower Services teams, focusing on fostering relationships with existing borrowers and identifying new lending opportunities. His extensive network within the property sector positions him as a key voice in the industry, contributing to the structuring and execution of lending in Australia’s Commercial Real Estate market. Grant holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Master of Applied Finance.
